Banzaï, what does it mean?
Originally, "Banzai" (万歳) is a Japanese word that literally means "ten thousand years of life" — a wish for long life and prosperity for the emperor.
Today, however, “Banzaï!” is mostly a joyful exclamation — a cheer to celebrate a moment, raise a toast, or simply savor the present.
That’s exactly what I aim to share through my cooking: generosity, freshness, and a true zest for life.
At Banzaï, cooking takes many forms — all centered around the joy of good food and unique culinary experiences in Brussels.
Every week, I offer meal boxes to take away or have delivered across Brussels, so you can enjoy the taste of homemade cooking.
I also share my passion through Japanese cooking workshops that are casual and accessible to everyone.
For those who love to slow down and savor, my intimate supper clubs offer a unique experience built around a seasonal menu.
And for your intimate events, I offer a bespoke catering or private chef service to delight your guests without any stress.
Who’s behind Banzaï?
My name is Nadia (and Sakura in Japanese) — I’m a cook, a host, and someone deeply passionate about food that brings people together.
My style: homemade dishes inspired by my travels, my roots, and a constant desire to delight.
My cooking is simple, genuine, generous — a bit like an open invitation to my home.
Through Banzaï, I create both culinary and human experiences: whether it’s in a meal box, around a supper club, in a workshop, or in your own home, every dish is crafted to make the moment memorable and to nourish more than just your appetite.
